Fanvue's help article How to receive a payout sets the minimum at $20 in your Available Balance, while warning that the threshold can be higher in some regions. You withdraw on request rather than automatically, by bank transfer, MassPay eWallet, Cosmo eWallet or crypto through TripleA, depending on where you live, and PayPal is not offered.
Getting money out also depends on things the minimum does not mention: content on your page, a completed tax interview, a payout method that has cleared its security check and a name that matches your verified identity. This guide covers those prerequisites, compares the methods, decodes every balance and method status, and finishes with a checklist for a payout that has not arrived. What Fanvue deducts before money reaches your balance is covered in our guide to Fanvue fees for creators.
Before your first withdrawal
The payout article lists three conditions before you can request money for the first time, and other Fanvue pages add more. Work through them in this order, because the slow ones take a day or longer to clear.
- Complete the tax interview in your settings. Fanvue's tax forms article says every creator must confirm tax status before requesting a payout, whatever they have earned, and that payouts pause once a grace period runs out; our Fanvue tax forms and VAT guide explains which form you will see.
- Upload at least the amount of content the payout article requires, which it gives as a minimum of 5 pieces, before asking for money.
- Verify every co-creator who appears in your uploads, since anyone featured besides you has to be cleared before a withdrawal goes through.
- Add a payout method early. A new method shows as In review during a security check that the payout options article says can take up to 24 hours.
- Make sure the bank account is in the same name as your identity verification. Small differences such as a shortened first name are accepted; a different person's account is not, even with their permission.
- Wait until the money has moved from Pending to Available, then request at least the minimum shown on your payout screen.
Payout methods compared
Fanvue's payout methods article calls bank transfer its universal option, available everywhere, with the wallets and crypto offered depending on location. The table summarises what each option asks of you and what happens if something goes wrong.
| Method | What you provide | Charges | If it goes wrong | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bank transfer, including PIX where supported | Bank account details, never card details; the fields change by country, and Australian creators give an account number, SWIFT or BIC and BSB for an international payment | No Fanvue payout fee listed | Fanvue warns that funds sent to a wrong account number or sort code cannot be recovered | Payout methods |
| MassPay eWallet | Nothing in advance; selecting it triggers an email invitation to register, then you move funds onward from the MassPay wallet | MassPay sets its own service fee by method and location and shows it before each onward transfer | Money still sitting in the MassPay balance can be reversed to Fanvue through Fanvue support | MassPay eWallet |
| Cosmo eWallet | A Cosmo account opened on Cosmo's site and the secondary account number it issues, saved as a payout method | Any Cosmo charges are Cosmo's; Fanvue disclaims fees accrued on withdrawal | Balance or invoice questions go to Cosmo itself, because Fanvue cannot see Cosmo invoices or act for you | Cosmo payout issues |
| Crypto through TripleA | Switch the option on; Fanvue says it does not store your wallet details | 1%, taken from the withdrawal and displayed before you confirm | Check the destination carefully, as with any crypto transfer | Payout fees |
| PayPal | Not available | Not applicable | Fanvue says it will post an update if that changes | Payout methods |
You can keep up to 10 saved methods and set one as the default, according to the payout options article, but existing bank details cannot be edited in place. To change banks you add the new account as a fresh method, wait for it to clear, then make it the default. Doing that well before a planned withdrawal avoids a delay at the moment you need the money.
Balance and method statuses decoded
Fanvue uses status words in two places: on your balance and on each saved payout method. Reading them correctly answers most “where is my money” questions before you contact anyone.
| Status | What it means | What you can do | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pending balance | Fan payments held for security checks and fee deductions, usually for 7 days, and up to 30 days when the paying fan has not verified their email | Nothing to request yet; note the sale date so you know when it should clear | Pending vs Available Balance |
| Pending Period in the policy | A standard 7 days that Fanvue's fraud and risk systems can extend to 28 days, subject to change without notice | Expect longer holds on new or unverified activity and plan cash flow around the longer figure | Creator Earnings & Payouts |
| Available balance | Cleared earnings you can withdraw whenever you choose | Request a payout once the amount meets the minimum for your method | Pending vs Available Balance |
| Method In review | A newly saved destination going through its security check | Wait; it cannot be used or made the default until the check finishes | Manage Payout Options |
| Method Available or Default | Cleared and usable; the default is preselected each time you withdraw | Switch to another cleared method at the point of withdrawal if needed | Manage Payout Options |
| Method Removed | A destination you deleted, which no longer appears in your active list | Add it again from scratch if removed by mistake, and expect a fresh security check | Manage Payout Options |
| Dormant balance | For UK, EEA and most other creators, money left with no payout request or invoice for 12 months, after reminders; US balances follow state unclaimed property rules instead | Withdraw regularly; reactivation needs updated tax and identity details and a payout request | Creator Earnings & Payouts |
The dormant rule surprises people who treat a creator balance like a savings account. The earnings policy says creator balances are contractual amounts Fanvue owes you, not money held on trust or deposits, and that once a UK, EEA or rest-of-world balance is classed as dormant you are treated as having waived it, with any late claim paid only at Fanvue's discretion within six years.
How long a payout takes, depending on which page you read
Fanvue gives creators at least three different answers on timing, and the gaps matter if rent depends on a withdrawal.
- The help centre's payout article says a request is processed straight away and reaches the chosen method within 3 to 5 business days, depending on that method.
- The binding earnings policy and the Creator Terms only aim to start valid requests within ten business days, and list fraud or content investigations, banking or third-party delays and problems with your details as reasons it can take longer.
- A January 2026 post on Fanvue's own blog, What is Fanvue?, talks about instant payouts and says payouts are available immediately once you are earning, which sits awkwardly beside the pending period every other Fanvue document describes.
Plan on the policy, not the marketing. Count the pending hold first, then allow the full initiation window, then add whatever your bank or wallet needs to move the money onward. The same caution applies to third-party review sites, several of which quote higher bank minimums, crypto minimums or Payoneer support that no Fanvue page we checked mentions. When an external figure disagrees with your payout screen, believe the screen.
Missing or wrong payout checklist
Work down this list before raising a ticket, and keep screenshots as you go; support will ask for them.
- Open Earnings & Payouts and confirm the request was actually submitted, for the amount you expected, to the method you meant to use.
- Check the destination shows Available rather than In review, and compare every digit of the saved details with your bank's records.
- Confirm the account holder name matches the name on your identity verification closely enough that the bank will not reject it.
- If you chose MassPay or Cosmo, log in to that wallet before anything else; the money may have arrived there and simply not moved on to your bank.
- Take Cosmo-side problems to Cosmo's own support, which only discusses an account with its holder.
- Look for a tax-information reminder, because an unfinished tax interview pauses withdrawals after the grace period.
- Scan the earnings page for chargeback lines and any message about restricted payouts, which Fanvue may apply while a high chargeback rate settles.
- Contact Fanvue support with the request date, amount, method and your screenshots, and do it promptly: the earnings policy requires you to report a missing or incorrect payout within 30 days of the related transaction, after which it says no adjustment will be made.
Logging each request with its date, amount and method makes the last step much faster, and it is the same record you need for tax. Our payout forecast worksheet has columns for pending, available and received amounts that suit a Fanvue log without changes.
Keeping payout access under your control
Payout settings are the part of a creator account a thief most wants, and Fanvue has locked them down in useful ways. The payout options article says only the creator can add, change, set as default or remove a payout method, so agencies and managers with access to your account cannot touch them, and money cannot be sent to anyone else's account, whether a manager, partner, relative or agency.
Use that as a monthly check. Open your saved methods and confirm you recognise every one; an unfamiliar entry, or one in review that you did not add, is a sign someone else has been in your account. If that happens, change your password, end all sessions and follow the recovery steps in our Fanvue privacy and account security guide before you request another payout.
Limitations of this payout guide
We read Fanvue's earnings policy, Creator Terms and help centre articles on 1 October 2026, and the help articles were not always consistent with the policy or with each other. Method availability varies by country, minimums can differ by region and method, and Fanvue can change pending periods without notice, so the figures your own payout screen shows take priority over this summary.
We have not tested any provider's onward transfer times or charges, and MassPay, Cosmo, TripleA and your bank each run on their own terms. If a payout is stuck because of an account restriction, a dispute or a legal claim against your earnings, Fanvue's complaints process and, where money is at stake, independent legal or financial advice are the right next steps rather than another withdrawal attempt.
