Direct answer: launch an OnlyFans free page only when a new follower can understand the page promise, browse a credible starter feed, see one clear paid next step, receive a useful welcome message, and return to a pinned orientation post. Before promotion, test every link and paid handoff yourself. During the first week, record where followers came from, which feed posts they viewed or reacted to where that is observable, which next steps they took, and which parts of the path caused repeated questions.

A free page is not an empty waiting room for a future paid page. Its launch job is to turn outside interest into an organised on-platform experience. This checklist owns that execution. It does not decide whether a free or paid business model is better for you; use the separate free vs paid OnlyFans strategy for that decision. It also does not prescribe how many free and paid assets to publish long term. The goal here is simpler: make the free-page journey coherent before the first promotion link goes out.

Set the free-page promise before building the feed

Write one sentence that explains why somebody should follow the free page today. A useful promise names the experience, the recurring reason to return and the path to more. For example: “Follow for weekly shoot previews, personal updates and first access to new full sets.” That is easier to act on than “exclusive content here” because the follower can picture what will appear and what remains optional.

Keep this sentence consistent across the profile bio, pinned post and welcome message. Consistency does not mean repeating the exact same paragraph. Each surface has a different job: the bio gives the shortest promise, the pinned post explains how the page works, and the welcome message gives the next action. If those surfaces describe three different offers, the page will feel unfinished even when the media looks polished.

OnlyFans has stated in a public response published by Ofcom that its platform does not provide site-wide keyword discovery and that a fan generally reaches a creator through a direct link or by knowing the creator's handle. Treat that as a launch constraint. Your outside promotion and profile identity must carry the discovery job; the free page must then fulfil the promise made by that link. The OnlyFans bio optimisation guide covers the separate work of refining the profile copy.

Build a Free-Page Funnel Launch Board

Use the following board as the source of truth for the launch. Complete the evidence column rather than marking a row done from memory. The board connects seven parts that are often prepared separately: discovery promise, free-feed inventory, paid path, welcome message, pinned handoff, go/no-go test and first-week checkpoint.

Launch blockDecision to completeMinimum launch evidenceFirst-week checkpoint
Discovery promiseWhat will a free follower reliably get?One matching promise in promotion, bio and pinned postRepeated “what is this page?” questions
Free-feed starter inventoryWhich posts prove the promise immediately?A varied, intentional feed with no empty category or broken previewWhere observable, posts receiving views, reactions, replies or profile revisits
Paid conversion pathWhat is the single primary next step? One tested offer destination with scope and action statedWhere observable, path starts, purchases or clarification questions
Welcome and DMWhat should a new follower do first?A delivered test message with one low-friction actionReplies and the questions that block action
Pinned and profile handoffWhere can a returning follower reorient? One pinned start-here post and a complete profileProfile visits and clicks to the stated destination
Go/no-go testCan an unfamiliar person complete the journey?Mobile test from outside link through paid handoffAny broken, circular or ambiguous step
First-week reviewWhat gets kept, clarified or removed?A dated daily log and day-seven decisionOne change tied to observed behaviour, not guesswork

The board is deliberately operational. It does not contain a promised conversion rate, a universal post count or an earnings target. Those numbers depend on the audience, promotion source, offer and creator. Your first launch needs observable checks before it needs a benchmark.

Prepare a starter feed that explains the page

The first feed should answer three questions without requiring a DM: who is this creator, what appears here, and what should a follower explore next? Use a small mix of post roles instead of uploading many near-identical images. A practical starter inventory can include an introduction, two or more examples of the recurring free format, a personality or behind-the-scenes post, a preview that points to a paid destination, a schedule or expectation post, and the pinned start-here post.

The exact number is less important than coverage. Before promotion, scan the page as a stranger and label every post by job. If six posts all perform the same preview job, the feed may still lack an introduction, proof of cadence or a usable next step. If you want a separate readiness decision based on feed depth, use how many posts to publish before promoting OnlyFans.

  • Orientation: one introduction and one pinned “start here” post.
  • Proof: several posts that genuinely match the free-page promise.
  • Personality: at least one post that sounds like the creator rather than a catalogue label.
  • Progression: one clear bridge from free browsing to a paid option.
  • Return reason: a stated rhythm, recurring series or next drop.

Check thumbnails, captions and destinations on mobile. Open every preview and locked item from the same kind of account a follower will use. Remove placeholders, duplicate captions and “coming soon” rows that do not have a real follow-up date. A free page can be intentionally small; it should not look accidentally incomplete.

Choose one primary paid conversion path

A free follower may eventually buy a locked post, open a paid message, request a custom offer, tip, or move to a separate paid page. Do not make every option compete in the first screen. Choose one primary path for launch and let secondary choices live in the menu or later messages.

Define the primary path with five fields: destination, audience moment, included value, action and fulfilment. For example: “After a follower views the weekly preview, the caption points to the full set; the offer states what is included; the button or message opens the correct item; delivery is available immediately after purchase.” This is a handoff, not a pressure script.

Free-to-paid handoff template: This is the preview from [SERIES OR SHOOT]. The complete [SET/VIDEO/POST] includes [CLEAR SCOPE] and is available [WHERE]. Open [ACTION] if you want the full version. If you are only here for the free updates, the next one is [DAY OR CADENCE].

Test the path with the exact media, copy and destination you will publish. Confirm the item opens, the scope matches the promise and the next action is visible. If you run both a free and a paid page, the paid-page link should land on the correct profile and the surrounding copy should explain what changes there. Do not send a follower into a second profile with no orientation.

Write the welcome message as an orientation step

The first message should help a new follower use the page. Lead with the page promise, point to the best first post, explain the paid path in one sentence and invite one easy reply. Avoid opening with a wall of offers. A new follower who has not yet browsed needs context more than a catalogue.

Welcome template: Hey [NAME] — welcome to my free page. Start with my pinned post for the quick tour, then check [STARTER POST OR SERIES] if you want to see what I share here. I post [CADENCE/PROMISE]. Full [PAID FORMAT] is available through [PRIMARY PATH]. What kind of update do you want to see first: [OPTION A] or [OPTION B]?

Send a test subscription through the real flow and confirm the message arrives with working references. If the message relies on a post title, keep that title stable. If it refers to “the button below” or “my latest post,” check that the interface actually presents it that way. The dedicated OnlyFans welcome message sequence explains how to continue after this first orientation without cramming every job into one message.

Make the pinned post the permanent handoff

The welcome message is momentary; the pinned post is the follower's reusable map. It should restate the promise, name the main free-feed sections, show where to begin and explain the paid next step. Include the posting rhythm only if you can maintain it. If your schedule changes, update the pinned copy before sending new traffic.

Pinned start-here template: New here? This free page is for [PROMISE]. Start with [POST/SERIES], follow [RECURRING FORMAT] on [CADENCE], and use [PRIMARY PATH] when you want [PAID SCOPE]. I'll keep this post updated whenever the page changes. Comment [SIMPLE RESPONSE] or message [KEYWORD] if you want help finding the right section.

The profile, pinned post and welcome message should form a short chain: profile earns the follow, pinned post explains the page, welcome message prompts the first action. For more variations, use the separate OnlyFans pinned post ideas. Do not copy all of those patterns into launch day; select one that matches the page's actual path.

Run a go/no-go test from an outside link

Do the final test on a phone from the same outside promotion surface you plan to use. Do not start inside the creator dashboard. The test should reproduce the follower journey: see the promotion, open the link, identify the creator, understand the free-page promise, follow, find the pinned post, receive the welcome message, browse the starter feed and reach the primary paid destination.

Mark the launch go only when the experience passes all of these checks:

  1. The promotion promise and landing profile describe the same page.
  2. The display name, handle, image and banner make the identity obvious.
  3. The starter feed has orientation, proof, personality, progression and a return reason.
  4. The pinned post is visible and every referenced post still exists.
  5. The welcome message arrives and its first action is understandable.
  6. The primary paid destination opens and matches the stated scope.
  7. A follower can remain on the free path without being misled about what is included.
  8. You have time assigned for first-week replies, fixes and review.

Mark it no-go when a link is broken, a paid item is not ready, the free feed does not match the outside promise, or the creator cannot support the stated cadence. Delay promotion long enough to repair the path. Publishing the account is not the same as launching the funnel.

Use first-week checkpoints instead of constant rewriting

Keep the core page stable long enough to observe it. Record a small daily set: promotion source, follows, welcome replies, pinned-post interactions, paid-path starts where your available tools expose them, completed paid actions, common questions and technical failures. Use a manual source or event log for signals you cannot observe directly. These are diagnostic counts, not a scorecard for comparing your launch with somebody else's.

If you control an intermediate landing page and use Google Analytics, Google's current URL-builder guidance explains how consistent utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign parameters can identify referring campaigns. Apply those tags to the landing-page URLs you control, never to invent attribution that your setup cannot observe. A simple manual source log is better than pretending every follow can be traced.

CheckpointReviewPermitted response
Day 1Broken links, missing media, welcome delivery, obvious profile confusionFix technical failures and misleading copy immediately
Day 3Repeated questions, ignored first action, weak handoff between pinned post and offerClarify one instruction or replace one ambiguous action
Day 5Which free formats attract browsing, replies or returnsSchedule more of the clearest useful format; do not erase the rest yet
Day 7Source quality, page use, paid-path movement, workload and unanswered confusionKeep, revise or remove one funnel block with the evidence written beside it

Creator discussions about free pages report very different outcomes and workloads. Treat those threads as useful questions, not universal evidence. Your day-seven decision might be to improve the page, change the primary offer, reduce the posting promise or revisit the underlying page model. Document which observation caused the decision.

Copy the final launch checklist

  • Write one free-page promise and match it across promotion, bio and pinned post.
  • Publish a starter feed covering orientation, proof, personality, progression and return reason.
  • Select one primary paid path and verify its scope, destination and fulfilment.
  • Publish one pinned start-here post that remains useful after launch day.
  • Test the welcome message from a real follower journey.
  • Open every link and paid handoff on mobile from an outside promotion source.
  • Assign time for replies, technical fixes and a day-seven review.
  • Record source, follows, meaningful page actions, paid-path movement, questions and failures.
  • Change one funnel block at a time so the result remains interpretable.

That is a launchable free page: not the page with the biggest archive, but the page where discovery, free value, orientation and the paid next step already connect. Once this path works, the separate content-allocation and wider strategy decisions can build on a functioning base.

Sources and editorial limits

Platform mechanics and discovery constraints were checked against OnlyFans' public responses published by Ofcom, including its description of creator and fan accounts, direct links, handles, posts and messages. Google Analytics Help supports only the narrow UTM measurement note for URLs a creator controls. The Pseudoface launch and free-page funnel guides, Creator Growth Lab's current free-versus-paid overview and r/onlyfansadvice creator discussions were used to map common launch questions and workflow disagreements.

The Free-Page Funnel Launch Board, copy templates, go/no-go gate and first-week checkpoints are SirenCY's editorial workflow dated July 27, 2026. They are not controlled research and do not guarantee follows, purchases, earnings or a particular conversion rate. Platform interfaces and features can change, so verify the live flow inside your own account before promotion.
