To be eligible for the TikTok Creator Rewards Program, TikTok's eligibility page says you must be at least 18, based in and registered in a country where the program runs, and using a personal account in good standing with at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days. Each video then has to qualify on its own: TikTok's video eligibility page requires original content over 1 minute long with at least 1,000 For You feed views, and excludes Duets, Stitches, Photo Mode posts and sponsored content.
The thresholds are the part everyone quotes. The rest of the rules, covering account reviews, view filtering, payment set-up and appeal deadlines, are spread across several TikTok pages and the program terms. This checklist gathers them in one place, quoting only figures TikTok itself publishes and linking each one.
Account requirements, line by line
Two TikTok documents set the account rules: the Creator Academy eligibility page, last updated in August 2026, and the US Creator Rewards Program terms, last updated in July 2026. They mostly agree, but the US terms add detail that matters when you apply.
| Requirement | What TikTok says | How to check yourself | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Location | Open to creators in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico and Brazil, who must be based there with an account registered there; the US terms refer to legal residence | Your country of residence and the account's registration country both appear on the list | Eligibility page |
| Age | At least 18; the US terms say 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live | The birth date on the account is accurate and meets the local age of majority | US terms |
| Account type | Personal accounts only; Business accounts, organisation accounts and government, politician or political party accounts do not qualify | Your account settings show a personal account | Eligibility page |
| Followers | At least 10,000; the US terms specify authentic followers | Follower count in analytics, with no bought or incentivised growth | US terms |
| Views | At least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days; the US terms specify authentic total views in the 30 days before you apply or are invited | Trailing views in analytics on the day you plan to apply | US terms |
| Visibility | The account must be public | Private account is switched off in privacy settings | Eligibility page |
| Standing | Follow the Community Guidelines, Terms of Service and Creator Code of Conduct, with no tampering or fraud | No open violations or restrictions on the account | Eligibility page |
| Payment and tax (US) | At least one valid digital payment account in your own name, in good standing, plus completed onboarding documents including tax forms | Payment account and tax details finished before you apply | US terms |
If you run a Business account, the eligibility page says you can switch it under Settings and privacy, then Account, then Switch to personal account, and that you can apply for the program 30 days after switching. Weigh that before you switch, because moving off a Business account changes the tools available to you.
What TikTok's account reviews look for
Meeting the thresholds once is not the end of it. The eligibility page says TikTok periodically reviews account information and recent videos for ineligible factors, and it lists them:
- Unoriginal content: account details or videos copied from others, or with minimal original input or edits.
- Low quality: split screens, meaningless reactions, low-quality images or slide videos.
- Advertising: personal or business contact information in your profile or account details.
- Clickbait: a profile or content that lacks meaningful value and is mainly built to attract followers, likes or ad clicks.
- Inappropriate content, which the page says includes sexually suggestive content and excessive body exposure, and disturbing content that could shock viewers.
- Security issues such as artificial engagement, manipulating the rewards system, harassing other users or involvement in illegal activity.
- Community Guidelines violations, Creator Code of Conduct restrictions, underage accounts, Business accounts and government or political accounts.
The same eligibility page sets two violation thresholds: 5 video violations in the past 30 days makes an account ineligible, and 5 total account violations makes it permanently ineligible.
Creators whose TikTok also promotes a business elsewhere should read the advertising and clickbait factors closely, because contact details in a profile and content designed mainly to drive clicks are exactly what the review names. If an account exists mainly to send people to another site, decide honestly whether Creator Rewards is a realistic goal for that account. Promotion is a different objective with different rules, covered in our TikTok marketing guide and the TikTok profile checklist.
Which videos earn and which views count
Joining the program does not make every upload eligible. TikTok's video eligibility page lists the conditions: original, high-quality content over 1 minute long; at least 1,000 views on the For You feed; not a Duet or Stitch; not created in Photo Mode; and not an ad, paid promotion or sponsored content. Everything must also follow the program terms, Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Creator Code of Conduct and Copyright Policy.
The same eligibility page lists criteria for the separate Additional Reward: well-crafted, engaging and specialised content, uploaded in 1080p or higher.
Views are filtered as well. TikTok's qualified view page says a view counts only if it comes from one of the program countries and lasts at least five seconds, that fraudulent, paid and disliked views are excluded, that repeat views from one account count once, and that Search views count when watched for at least 30 seconds. Ads, paid promotions and sponsored content are excluded, and views delivered through the View Boost Benefit do not count toward the program.
Note one small wording gap. The Creator Academy page says over 1 minute, while the US terms describe eligible videos as at least 1 minute long. Make program videos comfortably longer than a minute so the difference never decides anything.
| Check before posting | Passes when |
|---|---|
| Length | The video runs clearly past the minute mark, not just up to it |
| Originality | The footage, idea and edit are yours, with real creative input rather than a re-upload |
| Format | It is not a Duet, a Stitch or a Photo Mode post |
| Commercial status | It is not an ad, a paid promotion or sponsored content |
| Audio | Any music is properly licensed, since the US terms let TikTok mute, remove or disqualify videos with unauthorised music |
| Quality | The upload meets the resolution TikTok names for the Additional Reward |
| Policy | Nothing in it would count as low quality, clickbait, inappropriate or disturbing under the review factors |
If you are not sure longer videos suit your audience, test before rebuilding your whole output around them; the TikTok content testing framework shows how to compare formats fairly.
Pre-application checklist
- Confirm that you live in, and your account is registered in, a country on the program list. TikTok's terms tie eligibility to residence, so a different profile setting does not change it.
- Confirm that your age meets the program minimum where you live.
- If you use a Business account, switch to a personal account and wait out the waiting period before applying.
- Set the account to public.
- Check your follower count and trailing views in analytics, and be sure none of the growth came from bought or incentivised engagement.
- Review recent violations and resolve or appeal anything open before you apply.
- Remove personal and business contact details from your profile and account information.
- Audit recent videos against the review factors for originality, quality and clickbait.
- If you are in the US, link a payment account in your own name and finish tax onboarding first.
- Plan a pipeline of eligible videos: original, past the minute mark and free of sponsorship.
- Keep brand deals separate. Sponsored posts do not qualify, so price brand work with our UGC rate card worksheet without counting on rewards, and keep program dashboards out of your influencer media kit.
- Apply in the app through TikTok Studio, where the Creator Rewards Program section also holds your dashboard and appeal options.
Rejections, disqualifications and appeals
Each kind of setback has its own clock. The US terms say a rejected applicant may re-apply after 30 days, and that you can appeal an eligibility decision within 30 days through the link in the notification TikTok sends.
For problems after joining, the eligibility page gives 80 days to appeal a video that has been ruled ineligible and 30 days to appeal an account disqualification, from your inbox or from TikTok Studio. It adds that losing access because of violations that affect account standing, such as a permanent ban, forfeits outstanding rewards, while a successful appeal that recovers the account reinstates you automatically.
The US terms also say a creator terminated for cause cannot re-apply and forfeits unpaid rewards, and that disputes about payments, reporting errors or termination must be raised within 30 days or are treated as waived. Keep notifications and screenshots so you can act inside those windows.
After you join: payments and obligations
Under the US terms, rewards are calculated in the month after they are earned and paid on the 15th of each month when the payable amount meets the $50.00 USD minimum payment threshold, with PayPal, through Hyperwallet, handling the transfer.
The same terms say transfer fees may apply, that unpaid estimated rewards below the threshold may be treated as expired at TikTok's discretion, that TikTok can cap rewards monthly or annually, and that taxes are your responsibility, with TikTok able to withhold amounts the law requires. Creators in the European Economic Area, which includes Germany and France, should read TikTok's separate EEA program terms, which are worded differently.
Three obligations in the US terms are easy to miss. Program reporting metrics and other non-public program information are confidential and may only be shared with legal or professional advisers under confidentiality. If you endorse TikTok in your content, you must clearly disclose that you take part in the program and are paid by TikTok. And joining grants TikTok a royalty-free licence to use your username, image, voice and likeness to identify you as a participant, and to use your public content to showcase you and market TikTok to advertisers.
Limitations of this checklist
This summary reflects TikTok's Creator Academy pages and the US program terms as they read on 1 October 2026. TikTok reserves the right to add or change eligibility requirements at any time, other markets run under separate terms, and wording sometimes differs between the help pages and the legal terms, as the video length example shows. Check the linked pages before you apply.
Meeting every item on the list does not mean you will be accepted, because TikTok decides applications at its sole discretion. This page also gives no earnings estimates: TikTok calculates rewards from its own data and criteria, and third-party payout figures rarely state the audience, country mix or period behind them. For tax questions about program income, speak to a registered tax agent or accountant where you live.
