To withdraw money from TikTok, open your profile menu, go to Balance, link a payment account in your legal name, finish the tax and identity steps, and then either request a payout or wait for the monthly transfer, depending on the program. TikTok's guide to going LIVE says LIVE rewards can be withdrawn or received automatically, depending on your region, to an external bank or PayPal account. The US Creator Rewards terms say program rewards are paid on the 15th of each month once the payable amount reaches $50.00 USD.
The details differ by program and by region, which is why so many withdrawal guides contradict each other. This one uses only figures TikTok publishes in its terms, policies and help pages, names the region each rule comes from, and ends with a table for the payouts that do not arrive. Tax forms and how TikTok income is reported are a separate topic, touched on here only where they block a payment.
Where each kind of TikTok money lands
Balance, found in the profile menu, is the hub for most creator earnings, but each program reaches it differently and some never use it at all.
| Program | Where it shows and how it pays | Source |
|---|---|---|
| LIVE Gifts and LIVE rewards | Rewards based on Diamonds sit in Balance; you withdraw them, or they are paid automatically in some regions | Going LIVE guide |
| Creator Rewards Program | Estimates on the program dashboard; calculated the month after, paid on the 15th once the threshold is met | US program terms |
| Creator Rewards in the EEA | Balance, then Others, then Monthly Earnings; the payable amount is transferred even below the threshold | EEA program terms |
| Series | Monthly earnings notice on the first of the month; sent automatically on the 15th at $50 or the local equivalent | Series payments page |
| Subscription | Monthly rewards appear on your account once a payment method is set up | Subscription guide |
| Super Fan | Balance, then Estimated balance, or LIVE Center under Fan Club | Super Fan FAQ |
| TikTok Shop commissions (US) | Handled through TikTok Shop; identity verification is needed before commission withdrawals | US Shop creator rules |
Some balances look like income but are not. Coins are for spending, and Diamonds are a popularity measure: the US Virtual Items Policy says Diamonds do not automatically entitle anyone to a reward payment. A Promote balance holds refunds of unused ad budget and follows its own withdrawal rules, which the TikTok Promote guide sets out. If you want to know how the rewards themselves are calculated before they reach Balance, see the TikTok RPM guide.
Payout setup checklist
Do this once, before money builds up, and most failed withdrawals never happen. The order matters, because later steps depend on earlier ones.
- Confirm your account region. TikTok's account region page says you may only get one chance to change it, and that rewards from the previous region must be settled first.
- Open Balance and note which section holds which program's earnings, so you check the right place each month.
- Link a payout account registered in your legal name. The US Rewards Policy calls this a Preferred Account, such as a bank or PayPal account, and makes you responsible for keeping its details accurate.
- Complete the tax information step. TikTok's tax information page says creators submit US tax forms from the wallet where they manage payment methods, and that missing documentation can lead to mandatory withholding.
- Verify your identity, age and location when asked; the Rewards Policy lists these checks as conditions of a monetary reward.
- If you are VAT-registered, look out for the self-billing agreement the Series payments page describes.
- Before each withdrawal request, read the limits, fee and exchange rate shown on screen. The Rewards Policy says fees and exchange rates are displayed before you request or receive a payment, and that TikTok will tell you about any minimum you need to meet.
- Download statements for your records. The Creator Academy's Creator Rewards guide explains that statement invoices come from Balance, then Monthly Earnings, then Transactions, and that TikTok does not issue invoices for Creator Rewards payouts themselves.
Once payments start, reconcile them against what the dashboards promised. The earnings tracker template was built for another platform, but its gross, fees and payout columns transfer directly to TikTok statements.
Minimums, limits and fees TikTok publishes
For monthly programs, the threshold is the figure that matters. The US Creator Rewards terms set a $50.00 USD minimum, say transfer fees may apply, and allow TikTok to treat unpaid estimated rewards below the threshold as expired at its discretion. The EEA terms take a more generous line: the payable amount is transferred even when it is below the threshold, but any balance is forfeited after 2 years if you never complete onboarding and a payment method.
For LIVE rewards in Europe, TikTok publishes a fee schedule. Its payment limits page for users in the EEA, Switzerland and the UK says the daily maximum you can request ranges from the local equivalent of $100 to $50,000, based on your reward payments the previous month, and lists a minimum and a fee for each payout method. Three of the Creator Rewards countries, as examples:
| Country | PayPal | Bank account | Payoneer | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | Minimum 1 USD; fee 1.5%, capped at 20 USD | Minimum 9 USD; fee 3 USD | Minimum 2 USD; fee 2%, capped at 3 USD | Payment limits page |
| Germany | Minimum 1 USD; fee 1.5%, capped at 20 USD | Minimum 9 USD; fee 3 USD | Minimum 2 USD; fee 2%, capped at 3 USD | Payment limits page |
| France | Minimum 1 USD; fee 1.5%, capped at 20 USD | Minimum 4 USD; fee 3 USD | Minimum 2 USD; fee 2%, capped at 3 USD | Payment limits page |
In the US, the Rewards Policy says minimum and maximum payment limits and transaction fees may apply, that payments are calculated in US dollars, and that conversion costs and fees are shown before you request a payout. No public US fee table sits alongside it, so the screen in your app is the authority. Ignore figures from third-party articles that do not name their region and date.
How long a withdrawal takes
Several clocks run in sequence. The Rewards Policy says TikTok tries to finish reviewing a reward request within 24 hours, though some take longer. The Creator Rewards guide says withdrawal requests are typically processed within 72 hours, and that banks, PayPal or Pix may hold the money for longer at their own discretion. For monthly programs, the payment date is the 15th, and the US terms say the time of receipt then depends on the payment provider.
Expect the first payment to take longest, because verification and tax checks happen before it. If you are reconciling Creator Rewards, remember that the dashboard shows cumulative rewards, not the amount in the current payout cycle; TikTok's dashboard guide says anything outside the closed period moves to the next payment.
Failed or missing withdrawal: troubleshooting table
Start with the symptom, then work across. Each cause comes from TikTok's own terms or help pages, not from guesswork about the app.
| Symptom | Likely cause in TikTok's documents | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No payment arrived on the usual payment date | The payable amount was under the threshold, or onboarding is incomplete | Check the threshold for your program and finish payment, tax and identity steps |
| Transfer bounced back | A problem with the payout account; the US terms say TikTok will contact you to fix it and retry | Correct the account details and watch your inbox for the retry |
| Account rejected at setup | The account is not in your legal name, or is not a supported provider | Link an account held in your own legal name |
| Tax withheld from the payment | Tax documentation missing or out of date | Update tax information in the wallet and ask a tax professional about recovery |
| Payout lower than the dashboard | Cumulative dashboard versus closed payout period, plus fees and currency conversion | Compare month by month and read the fee lines on the transaction |
| Rewards deducted after the fact | A video removed or failing review, or a breach of the rules named in the Rewards Policy | Check notices and appeal anything you believe is wrong |
| Cannot change region | Unsettled rewards from the current region | Withdraw or settle the balance first |
| Shop commission locked | Creator identity verification not completed | Complete verification in the Shop flow |
| Money shows as sent but not received | A hold by the bank or payment provider | Contact the provider with the transaction details |
The Rewards Policy also lists the situations where TikTok can delay, reduce or withhold a reward, including missing information, an unverified payout account, legal or security holds, rewards obtained dishonestly and undisclosed commercial relationships. If none of the rows fit, report the problem from Settings and privacy in the app and attach screenshots of the balance and transaction.
Deadlines that cost money if you miss them
- Payment disputes in the US Creator Rewards program must be raised within 30 days of the issue, or the US terms treat them as waived.
- Under the US Rewards Policy, the right to receive a reward expires two years from when you first became eligible, unless a program says otherwise.
- Losing your account to a permanent ban forfeits outstanding Creator Rewards, according to TikTok's eligibility page, though a successful appeal reinstates you.
- The Rewards Policy says any amount displayed belongs to TikTok until it reaches your account, so a large waiting balance is not yet yours.
The practical habit is to withdraw LIVE rewards regularly rather than letting them pile up, and to log every monthly payment the week it lands. Subscription and Series payouts follow the same Balance flow; the Subscription guide and the Series guide cover what each program pays on, and the map of TikTok earning programs shows the rest.
Limitations of this guide
This guide is based on TikTok's US and EEA program terms, its Rewards Policies, the EEA, Switzerland and UK payment limits page and TikTok help pages as they read on 1 October 2026. Payout methods, minimums and fees vary by country and change; TikTok notes on its limits page that the figures are subject to change. Screens in the app may not match these descriptions exactly.
It deliberately leaves out tax treatment. Forms, withholding and reporting depend on where you live and how you operate, so read the creator tax guide for the general picture and speak to a registered tax agent or accountant before relying on any of it.
