Score a subreddit by reading its current purpose, rules, wiki and moderator posts; checking whether your niche and media genuinely serve the audience; documenting posting and Verification effort; testing the allowed title, file and public profile path; and estimating the participation workload. Reject any community where promotion, content type or creator eligibility conflicts with the rules, even when its membership looks attractive.

Start with Community purpose, not member count
Read the description, recent posts, pinned moderator notices and wiki before evaluating reach. State the community's purpose in one sentence. Then explain how the creator's proposed post would contribute to that purpose without depending on a sales caption.
Examine recent accepted posts across several days rather than only the most visible examples. Note recurring formats, title style, conversation quality and whether original creators participate. Do not infer permission from rule-breaking posts that happen to remain visible.
Mark no fit when the creator's only reason to post is that the community is large. Audience relevance requires a shared interest and a credible native contribution. A smaller aligned community may be a better learning environment, but the scorecard makes no performance promise.
Build a dated rule record
Copy the current rules that affect content type, titles, external links, selling, self-promotion, frequency, reposting, watermarking, attribution, age, verification and flair. Save the URL and review date. Read linked wikis and moderator posts because important conditions may not fit in the sidebar.
Translate each rule into an observable publication check. “No selling” means the proposed title, body, comments and profile interaction must not turn the post into a sales request. “Original content” requires the creator to hold the relevant rights and meet the community's stated verification process.
When a rule is unclear, ask moderators through the channel they specify or choose another community. Silence is not approval. Do not design a post around concealed promotion or an interpretation that defeats the stated community purpose.
Check audience and media fit together
Draft one representative post using content the creator can repeatedly produce. Record the media type, crop, title, any required flair and intended discussion. Compare it with current accepted posts while preserving the creator's own identity.
A strong visual match is not sufficient if the creator cannot participate in the community's conversation or meet its original-content expectations. Likewise, a relevant niche may still fail when the permitted media exposes more identity or explicitness than the creator accepts.
Record a sustainable content source for the community: approved outtakes, safe crops, process images or another format that genuinely belongs there. Do not promise a posting cadence until the creator has completed a small compliant pilot.
Treat Verification effort as a creator decision
Identify current requirements for account age, karma, contributor approval, age confirmation, identity signs, custom poses or moderator contact. Requirements differ and change. Record exactly what the current community asks; do not copy a process from another subreddit.
Assess privacy exposure, preparation time and whether the creator understands where material is sent. Keep verification media separate from promotional assets and follow the community's current process. If the creator is uncomfortable or cannot verify the recipient, mark the community not ready.
Never promise approval. A completed submission can still be declined, delayed or require clarification. The scorecard records the gate and decision; it does not advise pressuring moderators.
Review moderation signals without guessing
Look for recent rule updates, moderator announcements, removal explanations and whether stated post types appear consistently. Record observable facts. Do not label moderators unfair or inactive because one post disappeared without a visible reason.
Add a review trigger for every selected community: a rule change, unexplained removal, required verification update or substantial shift in accepted content. Pause scheduled posts until the new condition is understood.

Test the public profile path
Open the creator's Reddit profile while logged out and on mobile. Check display name, bio, visible post history, pinned content and current links. The profile should accurately explain the creator without making a community post carry prohibited promotion.
Confirm that destinations load, identity remains consistent and adult context is clear where required. Follow Reddit-wide and community rules as well as the destination platform's current terms. Do not assume profile links make a community's no-promotion rule irrelevant.
Record the tested path and date. If the creator changes a username, landing page or profile statement, re-run the check before the next post.

Mark pass, concern, fail or unverified for every row. A Rule compatibility failure stops the decision. For concerns, write the smallest clarification or preparation needed. Add subreddit, reviewer, date, sample post, creator approval and next rule-review event.
Run a small participation pilot
Begin with normal participation and a small number of fully reviewed posts that meet the current rules. Observe moderation outcomes, relevant conversation, profile visits where available and creator workload. Do not treat upvotes alone as subscriber intent.
Log accepted, removed and unanswered posts with the stated reason when provided. Correct genuine rule mistakes and avoid immediately reposting removed material. If the community remains a fit, refine native contribution before increasing frequency.

Turn removals and rejections into useful evidence
When a post is removed, save the post ID, time, content, title, flair, current rule record and any moderator explanation. Classify the issue only when evidence supports it: clear rule conflict, technical format problem, eligibility gate, duplicate material, unclear reason or community-fit concern.
Correct a clear mistake before trying again, and use the moderator channel if the rules invite questions. Do not repeatedly resubmit the same material or argue publicly. An unexplained removal stays unexplained; it is not evidence that the entire community is hostile or that a different title will be accepted.
Update the scorecard after the event. A technical correction may leave overall fit unchanged. A newly discovered no-promotion rule changes Rule compatibility to fail. A verification requirement changes readiness until the creator makes an informed decision.
Review accepted posts with the same discipline. Acceptance proves that one post remained available at the review time; it does not grant future approval or validate every related format. Continue checking current rules and community purpose. Record whether the resulting conversation was relevant to the creator's theme, whether response work was manageable and whether the public profile remained accurate. Current sources and practical limitations

Limitations: passing this scorecard does not guarantee posting approval, reach, profile visits or subscriptions. Rules and moderation change, and publicly visible activity may not explain every decision. Recheck before each new campaign.
Verify the community with a dated evidence pass
Capture the community description, current rules, pinned moderator posts, verification instructions and the date reviewed. Read a sample of recent top, new and removed posts where visible. Note the formats that genuinely contribute to the community, how titles are written, whether creators answer comments and which promotional cues are rejected. A large member count does not prove that the audience or workload fits.
Score verification effort separately from audience fit. Record the required steps, permitted submission channel, information requested, expected moderator response and what the creator is unwilling to provide. If a requirement is unclear or conflicts with the creator’s boundaries, pause the community rather than guessing a submission method.
Finally, estimate the recurring work: original posts, title adaptation, comment participation, rule rechecks and profile maintenance. Reject a subreddit when it requires behaviour the creator cannot sustain, even if its topic appears relevant. The scorecard supports a current go, revise, pause or reject decision; it is not a permanent approval or a substitute for the live rules.
Store the evidence packet beside the pilot log, including the exact post version and outcome. On review day, separate community fit from individual-post quality. A weak creative does not automatically disqualify the community, while one accepted post does not erase a recurring workload or boundary conflict.
