ManyVids vs OnlyFans is really a choice between selling a catalogue and selling ongoing access. ManyVids is built around a searchable storefront where members buy individual vids, Vid Bundles, store items and Custom Vids, with a subscription Club alongside, while OnlyFans' Terms of Service centre on a recurring subscription that opens up everything you post, with pay-per-view content and paid messages on top. The fees split along the same line: OnlyFans' terms take 20% of every fan payment, whereas ManyVids' commission table keeps 20% on Club subscriptions, Custom Vids, tips and store items but 40% on individual vids, Vid Bundles, paid contest votes and Pay To Open messages.
This comparison works from each platform's own terms and help pages, read on 1 October 2026, and sticks to how the two business models differ. The full ManyVids rate card, payout fees and tax forms are in our ManyVids fees and payouts guide, and the wider field is covered in our OnlyFans alternatives overview.
What each platform says you are selling
ManyVids answers the question directly. Its help article Is ManyVids a clip site or fan site? says it is both: your profile sells vids with the freedom of a clip site, and a private feed works like a fan site, which it sums up as an “e-commerce social ecosystem”. Its creator success article goes further and calls your profile a storefront.
OnlyFans' terms are built the other way round. They define a Subscription as a fan's agreement to access, for a set period, all the content a creator makes available, in return for automatic renewal payments, and they expressly exclude individually priced content from it. Pay-per-view posts, direct messages and every other paid exchange are separate “Creator Interactions” that sit on top of the subscription.
In practice, a ManyVids vid is a product with its own price, page and tags, and the Club is optional. On OnlyFans the subscription is the front door, and individual sales happen inside the relationship it opens.
ManyVids and OnlyFans side by side
Each row below comes from the platform's own documents, linked in the last column. Where OnlyFans' terms are silent, the table says so rather than filling the gap.

Where the fee gap actually applies
Comparisons that simply set ManyVids' higher rate against OnlyFans' flat one overstate the difference for many creators. On Club subscriptions, Custom Vids, tips and store items, ManyVids' commission table keeps the same 20% that OnlyFans' terms take from every payment. The higher share only bites on the products a clip store exists to sell: single vids, Vid Bundles, Pay To Open messages and paid contest votes.
That gives you a quick test. Estimate where your own sales would come from. If most would be single-vid purchases and bundles, ManyVids costs you more per sale and has to earn that back by putting you in front of buyers you would not otherwise reach. If most would be subscriptions, custom orders and tips, the platform shares match, and the choice comes down to audience, tools and rules. ManyVids also charges a fee per payout that depends on the method, set out in our ManyVids payout fee breakdown, while OnlyFans' terms warn that your bank or e-wallet may add conversion or other charges it does not control.
Who brings the buyer to your page
ManyVids documents several ways members find creators inside its own site. The Vids page article describes trending, top-selling and most-viewed listings with search filters and tags, the Premium Content Library shows submitted vids to Premium members with a link back to each creator's profile, and a MarketPlace page surfaces store items. Its Creator+ programme prioritises approved creators' uploads for banners and landing pages, though qualifying requires a stock of safe-for-work vids and shippable items plus a linked X account.
OnlyFans' Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy describe how fans pay and what is prohibited, but say nothing about search placement or a storefront. Plan an OnlyFans page on the basis that you bring most of the audience yourself, from social accounts you already run, and then decide what to sell once they arrive; our breakdown of OnlyFans revenue streams covers that second step.
Free samples work differently too. ManyVids' Pricing Policy says that from 2 October 2025, adult vids must cost at least $1.99 and cannot be listed free, while an older article, Does ManyVids set a price for my vids?, still describes free vids as promotional tools. The Pricing Policy is newer and forms part of the binding platform rules, so build teasers around free Club posts, which the Free Club article limits to 4 posts every 24 hours.
Running both without breaking either rulebook
You can list on both, but neither platform lets you use one as a billboard for the other, and ManyVids is the stricter of the two.
- ManyVids' external links policy bans non-ManyVids URLs, mentions of outside platforms, logos, email addresses and direct or indirect promotion in Live, the inbox, About Me, free Feed posts, wishlists, contests and vids. Watermarks showing your stage name or logo are fine; watermarks pointing to other adult sites are not.
- OnlyFans' Acceptable Use Policy prohibits linking to external media storage sites and referencing an off-platform site that breaks its terms.
- Keep cross-promotion on channels you control, such as your social profiles and your own link page, with each platform linked separately.
- Deliver a ManyVids custom order inside ManyVids, or through the file links its inbox permits, and an OnlyFans custom inside OnlyFans.
- Expect to verify twice. ManyVids' approval article asks for a photo of you holding your ID beside a handwritten sign showing the date, your legal name, your date of birth and the word MANYVIDS, while OnlyFans' terms ask for a valid ID and two photos of you; our OnlyFans verification walkthrough covers that side.
- Keep co-performer paperwork for both. ManyVids requires anyone else in your Club content to be age verified with a signed release on file, and OnlyFans' Acceptable Use Policy bars explicit content featuring anyone who has not completed its onboarding or provided a release form.
Catalogue or retention: a decision checklist
Tick each statement that is true for you today. The list with more ticks points to your better primary platform; a near-even split suggests running both, with promotion kept on your own channels.
Signs you are running a catalogue (lean ManyVids)
- Most of what you have already made is finished, titled clips that make sense on their own.
- You would rather put a price on each piece of work than commit to a posting schedule.
- You want buyers to find you through platform search, tags and trending lists instead of your own social reach.
- You sell, or plan to sell, physical items alongside digital content.
- You are happy to keep every mention of other platforms off your storefront.
Signs you are running a relationship (lean OnlyFans)
- You post often, and fans pay mainly to keep up with what you share next.
- Your sales happen in conversation, through messages and pay-per-view offers.
- You already have followers on social platforms who click the links you share.
- Most of your income would come from subscriptions, tips and custom requests, where the two platforms take the same share.
- You expect to refer other creators and want a referral scheme written into the terms.
Tie-breakers
- A price rise is coming. ManyVids keeps current members on their old price, while on OnlyFans an increase interrupts automatic renewal, so work through our subscription price change checklist before you raise it.
- You take long breaks. ManyVids' Terms for Uploaders let it hold earnings on an account inactive for 12 consecutive months without valid payout details, so keep payout details current on any platform you pause.
- Custom work is a big share of sales. ManyVids' structured Custom Vid packages suit repeatable orders; on OnlyFans, set the scope and price in messages, as our custom content pricing guide explains.
Limitations of this comparison
This page is based on both platforms' public terms and help pages as read on 1 October 2026. Neither publishes official, comparable audience or creator earnings figures, so it does not estimate either, and any comparison quoting such numbers deserves caution. Fees, pricing rules and promotion policies change, and some decisions, such as holdbacks and adjustments, sit at each platform's discretion. Payout methods and tax treatment also vary by country. Treat this as general information rather than legal, tax or financial advice, and check the current terms before you commit your catalogue to either site.
