How long does OnlyFans verification take?
There is no official figure. As of October 2026, OnlyFans' Terms of Use, its help centre articles on opening a creator account and rejected applications, and the onboarding guide in its Creator Center all describe the steps without saying how long the review lasts. The Creator Center's final step is simply “Wait for your approval email”.
So any hour count you see quoted, on social media or on other sites, is someone's experience or a guess rather than OnlyFans policy. Reviews are done by a dedicated team that combines human judgement with in-house technology and third-party tools, according to OnlyFans' Transparency Center, so the wait can reasonably vary from one application to the next.
Do not confuse verification with payouts. The one timing figure in the Creator Center is about money: it says manual and automatic payouts take between three and five business days, on average, to reach your bank account. That clock only starts once you are approved and have earnings to withdraw.
What you can control is the quality of what you submit. The terms let OnlyFans ask for more information before approving an account, and each request adds a round trip. Getting every step right the first time is the only reliable way to shorten the process.

What “verification in progress” means and what to do while you wait
A pending status means your application has been submitted and is with OnlyFans' review team. It does not mean something is wrong. The help centre gives no expected wait, so these are sensible ways to use the time:
- Check the right inbox. Approval arrives by email, so check the address on your account, including spam and promotions folders.
- Read the content rules. The Creator Center suggests using the wait to learn OnlyFans' content moderation policies and the features you will have. The creator's guide to content moderation is a good place to start.
- Plan your launch, not a launch date. Since no review time is published, avoid promising followers a fixed start day until the approval email arrives.
- Ask through official channels only. If the wait feels unusually long, OnlyFans' support article points to its contact form and support@onlyfans.com. No outside service can speed up the review.
Why applications are rejected, and the fix for each

The article also says OnlyFans may reject a creator application “at any time and for any reason” to keep the community safe, so a rejection is not always explained. If yours does not match a reason above, ask support before you resubmit.
Does OnlyFans accept a passport for verification?
Yes. The Creator Center tells applicants to complete the creator form with the information on their “official ID card, drivers license, or passport”, so all three are named. The terms themselves only say “a valid form of ID”, and OnlyFans does not publish a full list of accepted documents for each country.
If you hold more than one, pick the document that is current, undamaged and easiest to photograph clearly, and use the same one throughout the application.
After approval: collaborators and repeat checks
Approval is not the last check you will see. The Creator Center says every account is subject to “selfie checks” on a regular basis, to make sure profiles stay in the control of the verified creator. The identity guide linked above covers how often those happen and what a failed check means.
Posting with another person adds a verification step of its own. When explicit content features a collaborator who is not a verified OnlyFans creator, the Creator Center says you get a verification link to share with them, and the post goes live only after they accept the terms and their ID check is complete and reviewed.
