Deleting a fan account, step by step

A fan account is the simpler of the two. OnlyFans' help article on deleting a Fan account gives a three-part route: open your account, go to Settings, choose Delete Account, then follow the prompts on screen. The Terms of Service call the same place the ‘User Account’ section, so if the label on your screen looks slightly different, look for the account area inside Settings rather than a separate page.

1. Sign in on onlyfans.com. There is no store app to delete through; OnlyFans says it does not have an app, so everything happens in a browser.
2. Open Settings and select Delete Account. Read each screen before you confirm, because the help article is clear that a deleted account cannot be brought back.
3. Expect access to end straight away. The fan article warns that once the account is gone you can no longer reach any subscription that was still active, even one you paid for this month.
4. Watch your inbox. OnlyFans sends an email confirming the deletion. Keep it with the date visible; it is your proof if a charge appears later.

On billing, the Terms commit OnlyFans to deleting a fan account “within a reasonable time” and to taking no further subscription payments from it. The renewal clause makes the same point from the other side: a subscription does not renew if the account was closed before the next period began. Deleting a creator account: why it is not instant

Creators start in the same place. The Creator account deletion article also points to Settings and Delete Account, but what follows is a wind-down rather than a switch. Fans who have already paid are entitled to the period they bought, so the account stays live for them while no one new can join.

• New subscriptions stop when you start. The help article says no new subscribers can be added once the deletion process has begun.
• The account closes when the last paid period ends. The Terms put it as the account remaining open until every active fan subscription has expired; the existing subscriptions are then deleted and cannot renew.
• Unpaid earnings are paid before deletion. The same clause says OnlyFans pays all unpaid creator earnings and then deletes the account. The Contract between Fan and Creator adds that a fan's licence to view your content expires automatically once your creator account is deleted.
• Collaborations can outlive you. Deleting your account does not automatically remove co-authored content that another creator posted on their page. Raise that with the other creator, or with OnlyFans if you have withdrawn consent to appear.
• Coming back means a new application. A deleted creator account cannot be restored, so a return later starts again with a fresh creator application and verification.

Fan account vs creator account at a glance

One thing the table cannot show is a pause button. Neither help article describes a temporary deactivation or a grace period for undoing a deletion, and the Terms give no retention window either. Guides that promise a “deactivate first, delete later” option are describing something OnlyFans does not document.

Checklist before you press Delete

Because nothing comes back afterwards, the work happens beforehand. Work through the list that matches your account before you start the deletion flow.

For fans

• Use or write off any Wallet balance. The Terms say unused Wallet Credits are not refunded.
• Note which creators you pay and when each period ends, so a statement line later makes sense. OnlyFans says card statements show “OnlyFans”, “OF” or “OnlyFans.com”.
• Remove saved payment cards if you want them gone from your records as well as the account.
• Check you can open the email address on the account, because that is where the confirmation arrives.

For creators

• Download any of your own content you want to keep. The Terms say you lose access to the former account and its content after deletion.
• Save your earnings statements for every year you were active. Tax records are your responsibility, and the creator finance and tax hub explains what to keep.
• Withdraw what you can now. OnlyFans' payout article says the minimum withdrawal depends on the method and is $20 for most methods.
• Switch off renewal discounts, promotions and free trial links so no one subscribes to a page you are closing.
• Tell subscribers the page is closing and when, in a post or message, so the end of access is not a surprise.
• Agree with any collaborator what happens to co-authored posts on their page.
• Remove OnlyFans links from your social bios and link pages once the account is gone, so old traffic does not land on an empty page.
• End any agency or manager agreement in writing, and change your password and two-step settings so only you can act on the account.

What OnlyFans keeps after deletion, and why

Deleting the account is not the same as erasing every record of it. The Terms say that after deletion OnlyFans may handle your data under its Privacy Policy (last updated June 2026 when we read it), and that policy describes retention case by case rather than with one fixed date. It groups the reasons like this:

Face images used for age and identity checks follow a separate path. The policy says that data is held by OnlyFans' third-party verification provider rather than by OnlyFans, and that you can ask privacy@onlyfans.com to withdraw consent to it being kept for later re-checks. Content you shared with other people is another limit: deletion closes your account, but it cannot pull back copies someone saved or reposted elsewhere. Getting a copy of your data, or asking for erasure

Deleting the account and exercising privacy rights are two different requests. The Privacy Policy lists rights to receive a copy of your personal data, correct it, ask for it to be erased, restrict or object to its use, and move some of it to another party. You make a request by opening a ticket from your account or emailing privacy@onlyfans.com, so if you want a copy, ask while you can still log in.

1. Say exactly what you want: a copy of your data, erasure, or both, plus your @username and the email on the account.
2. Expect an identity check. The policy says OnlyFans may ask for more information to confirm who you are and may decline a request it cannot verify; someone acting for you needs written authority such as a signed document.
3. Know the limits. Erasure can be refused for legal reasons, and the policy gives an account deactivated for breaking the Terms as an example.
4. Escalate if needed. The policy names the UK Information Commissioner's Office and the Swiss regulator, points EEA residents to their national authority, and lets residents of some US states appeal a refusal before contacting their Attorney General.

For UK readers, the ICO's guidance on the right to get your data deleted says an organisation has one calendar month to respond, which it can extend by up to two months if it tells you why, and its page on subject access requests covers asking for copies. Other countries set their own timescales, so check your local regulator.

If you cannot log in to delete the account

You need to be signed in to reach Delete Account, so a locked-out account has to be recovered first. Match your problem to the help article that covers it:

When you email support, write from the address on the account, include your @username, and say plainly that you want the account deleted once access is restored. Do not hand codes or passwords to anyone who contacts you offering help; the support article lists only the form and that email address. Delete, cancel or hide: picking the right move

• You want the payments to stop. Cancel renewal for each creator instead. Your account, purchase history and login stay intact if you return.
• You are a creator who wants fewer people to find you. OnlyFans' profile hiding article says you can block your profile from chosen IP addresses, countries, or states and provinces in the US, Australia and Canada, under Privacy and safety settings.
• You object to a change in the rules. The Terms say OnlyFans will notify users of certain changes so they can delete their account before the changes take effect.
• You are finished with the platform. Delete, after the checklist above. For a creator, the page winds down over the remaining subscription periods.

If OnlyFans closed your account rather than you, the process is different. The Terms allow it to delete an account on 30 days' notice for any reason, or without notice while it reviews a suspected breach, and they give six months from notification to dispute the decision through the Appeals Policy or, for forfeited earnings, the Complaints Policy.
