OnlyFans Account 2026: Complete Setup, Verification, and Optimization Guide

Where each setting lives

Once an account is open, most of the day-to-day work happens in a handful of places. This map uses the names OnlyFans' own help centre and Creator Center use, so you can find each control quickly. Menu labels can change when the site is updated, so search for the section name if a control has moved.

A security routine for an established account

Setting up two-step authentication is a one-off job covered in our signup guide. Keeping a busy account safe is a routine. Run through this once a month and after anything odd, such as a login alert you did not expect:

1. Open the login sessions list in Account Settings and look for devices or places you do not recognise. OnlyFans' advice if you spot one is to change your password straight away and make sure two-step authentication is on.
2. Check the email account the OnlyFans login depends on. The FTC's guide to recovering a hacked account suggests signing out of all devices, confirming the recovery email and phone are yours, and deleting any forwarding rules you did not create.
3. Confirm your two-step backup codes are still where you stored them, and that the phone number on the account is current.
4. Use a password you do not use anywhere else, kept in a password manager; our guide to password managers for creators compares options.
5. Never send anyone a two-step code. A message asking for one is a takeover attempt, whoever it claims to come from.

Privacy controls: location blocks, watermarks and DRM

Three free settings reduce how far your work travels and who can see your page. OnlyFans' article on hiding your profile says you can block certain IP addresses, whole countries, or individual states and provinces in the US, Australia and Canada. Watermarks add custom text to your media, and DRM protection makes video harder to copy or download.

• Location blocks suit creators who want to stay unseen in their home area. They filter by where a visitor appears to connect from, so treat them as a filter rather than a guarantee of privacy.
• Watermarks stamp your chosen text on your media, which OnlyFans says makes unauthorised copying harder. Use your @username in the text rather than anything personal.
• DRM applies only to videos uploaded after you switch it on, so enable it before you build a back catalogue. OnlyFans warns it may stop some fans on older devices from playing protected videos.
• Restrict or block handles individual fans. The Creator Center explains that a restricted subscriber keeps access but their messages and comments are hidden from you, while a blocked user loses all access to your profile.

Reading your statements and earnings

The Statements page is the record you reconcile against your bank. OnlyFans' payment timing article says it shows your Earnings, Payout Requests, Current Balance and Pending Balance, and that refunds or successful chargebacks appear there as Adjustments. The Terms of Use allow OnlyFans to deduct the creator share of any refunded or charged-back payment, and its chargeback article adds that it cannot stop a fan from requesting one, though it tracks them for suspicious activity.

Profile statistics sit alongside the money. The Creator Center describes a Reach tab showing how many people view your profile, which countries they come from and how long they spend on your content, and a Fans tab separating first-time subscribers from renewals.

1. At month end, note the totals for earnings, adjustments and payout requests.
2. Match every payout request to a deposit in your bank or e-wallet, allowing for transfer time.
3. Record any conversion or transfer fee your bank charged, since payouts are made in US dollars.
4. List adjustments separately so a refund is never mistaken for a missing payout.
5. Save the month's figures with your tax records, and check the creator finance and tax hub for what your country expects you to keep.

Changing your email, username or display name

OnlyFans' help centre has no article on changing these details as of October 2026, so look in the account section of your settings first and contact support if a field will not save. Before you change anything, weigh what each one controls:

Several accounts, managers and team access

OnlyFans allows up to three creator accounts linked to one creator profile, according to its multiple accounts article. Help from other people is allowed too: the Contract between Fan and Creator tells fans that third parties may assist creators. What does not move is responsibility. The Terms of Use say your legal responsibility for the account is unchanged when someone helps you, because OnlyFans' relationship is with you.

Warnings, restrictions and appeals

OnlyFans' Appeals Policy covers more than outright bans. A Decision can deactivate content or an account, issue a final warning, restrict a feature such as livestreaming, or limit your ability to earn. The Terms add that OnlyFans can suspend or delete an account with 30 days' notice for any reason, or immediately while it reviews a suspected serious breach, and can hold back earnings during that review.

• The only appeal route is the Deactivation Appeal Form, and only fully completed forms are considered.
• Include the account URL or username, the URL of the content concerned and detailed reasons why it follows the Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy.
• File within six months of the Decision; the Terms say you otherwise lose the right to dispute it.
• Irreversible actions, such as ending a livestream, cannot be appealed.

Taking a break versus deleting

OnlyFans documents deletion but no separate pause mode. According to its creator deletion article, once you start deleting no new subscriptions can be added, the account closes when the last paid subscription expires, and a deleted account cannot be restored, so returning means applying for a new creator account. The Terms add that unpaid earnings are paid out before the account is deleted.

If you only need time off, tell subscribers what to expect and stop running new promotions rather than deleting. Deletion also does not wipe everything at once: the Privacy Policy says some records are kept for legal, tax or safety reasons, in some cases for up to 7 years. Monthly account health check

• Login sessions reviewed and unknown devices removed.
• Two-step authentication on, with backup codes and phone number current.
• Recovery email secured and free of forwarding rules you did not set.
• Location blocks, watermark text and DRM still set the way you intend.
• Statements reconciled with your bank, adjustments listed separately.
• W-9 or W-8BEN details and postal address still correct.
• Anyone with access to the account named, with their access still needed.
• Any warning or restriction answered, with appeal deadlines noted.
• Links on other platforms pointing to your current @username.
