What onlyfans.com is, and who runs it

OnlyFans is a subscription website for adults where creators sell access to their posts, messages and livestreams, and fans pay creators directly through the platform. The OnlyFans Terms of Use name the operator as Fenix International Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under number 10354575, with Fenix Internet LLC in Delaware as its US subsidiary. The same terms define the service as the website reached at www.onlyfans.com.

It is also a regulated service. OnlyFans' Complaints Policy says it is regulated by Ofcom and the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom and by the eSafety Commissioner in Australia, and it explains how people in the EU can complain under the Digital Services Act. Everyone who uses it, fan or creator, must be at least 18.

There is no app: using the site on a phone

OnlyFans answers this one directly. Its help article Does OnlyFans have an App? says no, and suggests adding onlyfans.com to your home screen so it opens like one. Any download in an app store claiming to be the OnlyFans app is therefore not from OnlyFans. Our page on the OnlyFans app question covers the background.

• iPhone, Safari: open onlyfans.com, tap the More button and then Share, choose Add to Home Screen, switch on Open as Web App and tap Add, following Apple's guide to turning a website into an app.
• Android, Chrome: open onlyfans.com, tap the More menu to the right of the address bar, choose Install and create shortcut, then Create shortcut, as Google's Chrome shortcut help describes.
• OFTV is different. The official OnlyFans start page describes OFTV as a free on-demand video platform and app for creators' shows in genres such as fitness, cooking, music and comedy. Because it is free to watch, it is not where creator subscriptions are sold.

Official addresses and look-alikes

A domain that contains the word “onlyfans” is not automatically run by OnlyFans. The Terms of Use let a creator register such a domain only if it redirects to their own OnlyFans page and they have written permission and a signed licence from OnlyFans, so plenty of addresses using the name belong to someone else. Phishing usually arrives as a message rather than a search result. The FTC's guide to recognising phishing lists the classic hooks: claims of suspicious log-in attempts, a problem with your payment details, or a link to confirm your information. How the site is organised

• Home feed. Posts from creators you follow, plus suggestions: the Terms say OnlyFans may use recommender systems that show accounts followed by users with similar subscription preferences.
• Profiles. Each creator has a page at onlyfans.com followed by their username, with free or paid posts behind a subscribe button.
• Search. OnlyFans' article on finding a creator says the search icon only appears after you have subscribed to an account and interacted with a creator, and that you search by @username. Without an open directory to browse, a creator's own profile link is the usual way in.
• Following page. Lists your active and inactive subscriptions; it is also where you unsubscribe, as our guide on how to cancel OnlyFans explains.
• Your Cards. Payment cards and the Wallet, OnlyFans' prepaid balance, according to its Wallet article.
• Creator tools. Statements, Banking and the Privacy and safety settings appear once an account is approved; the guide to running an OnlyFans account maps them.

Browsers, cookies and devices

OnlyFans publishes no list of supported browsers. Its Terms say it is not responsible for whether the site works on every device and operating system, and that configuring your own device is up to you. In practice, three things cause most trouble:

• Blocked cookies. The Cookie Notice lists essential cookies for log-in sessions, two-step authentication, security, language and video protection, and warns that disabling or blocking them may stop the site working. A privacy extension that strips cookies can break log-in.
• Older devices and protected video. OnlyFans says its DRM protection may stop fans on older devices from playing protected videos.
• Currency. Prices appear and are charged in US dollars, so check that your card accepts US-dollar charges if a payment keeps failing.

The same notice says non-essential cookies are used only to recognise referrals in the creator referral programme, that OnlyFans does not currently use cross-site tracking, and that it does not sell personal data. The menu also offers a dark mode switch and a language selector.

Using OnlyFans on a shared device

The detail most people miss is the log-in box. According to the Cookie Notice, ticking “Remember me for 30 days” stores your two-step verification status in a cookie on that device for 30 days, so that browser may not ask for the second step again during that time. On a device you share:

1. Leave “Remember me” unticked and do not let the browser save your password.
2. Use a private browsing window, which deletes session cookies when you close it.
3. Log out when you finish rather than just closing the tab.
4. Afterwards, open the login sessions list in your Account Settings from your own device and check that the shared session has ended; OnlyFans' account access article recommends a password change if you see anything unfamiliar.
5. Do not leave a card saved in Your Cards on an account other people can open.

What the legal pages actually say

The footer of every page links to the documents that make up your agreement with OnlyFans. The Terms of Use say that agreement is made of the Terms themselves, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Referral Program Terms, the Platform to Business Regulation Terms, the Complaints and Appeals policies, the UK VAT Policy and the Community Guidelines. Checks before you log in

• The address bar shows onlyfans.com, typed or bookmarked by you, not opened from a message.
• You are not entering your OnlyFans password on a blog, store, OFTV or third-party page.
• Any “OnlyFans app” you are about to install is your own home-screen shortcut, not a store download.
• On a shared device, “Remember me for 30 days” is unticked and you will log out afterwards.
• Your browser allows the site's essential cookies, or log-in may fail.
• You know which legal page answers your question before you contact support.
